Water Shortages

California has had a consistent issue with droughts, exacerbating preexisting flaws within access to water and other utilities.
When large neighborhoods and communities are displaced, they area often deprived of access to clean water, while gentrified areas are able to overuse exorbitant amounts. The Staples Center itself has used over 7 million gallons on toilets alone, although as of 2007, the Center has replaced 178 one gallon per flush urinals with 178 waterless ones in an attempt to become more sustainable.
Despite this, the use of already strained water resources in affluent and tourist attractive areas, continues to prevent low income areas from receiving clean water.
